If you've talked to me for more than 5 minutes in the last few months (or if you follow me on Instagram), you know I've been slightly freaking out over the fact that my sister is pregnant. And by slightly, I mean I probably teared up while we were talking and went into a little too much detail about how how this is going to be the best year ever. And by golly, I love you for putting up with my babbling!
Here's the deal. Mallory is my very best friend and I'm her very biggest fan. Since she told us she was pregnant last August, I've had what I like to call sympathy emotions. Essentially, I've been a puddle and it's been a little embarrassing for everyone. But when your only sister—only sibling, for that matter—is having her first baby, I guess it comes with the territory.
Kyle and I flew out to Denver last week to spend some time with Mallory and Cory and my parents. We had slow mornings at their house and we ogled at the mountains. We went to church with them and ran errands and watched Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and soaked in the last few days before this baby arrives and rocks our little corner of the world.
When my sister asked me to take maternity pictures for them, I honestly couldn't believe it. I just figured they'd want a *real* photographer. One who charges money and has a website and a portfolio. Definitely not me. But she did, and I took them, and here they are.
And it was so much fun. And I'm not sure why I don't do this more often.
I want to do this more often.
ANYWAY. Here's a little video and a few pictures of my stunning sister and her hilarious husband and their tiny papaya-sized baby, who is sure to be a sweet, smart, confident, and brave little adventurer.
And life will never be the same. In the best way. See you next month, Colorado baby!
